The Woodlands group explores sense of adventure

The Woodlands resident Brenda Gottlieb said while she does not vet the members of her women’s travel group, there are certain requirements to join for a journey.
A potential recruit would have to be open to riding elephants or traversing the sky in a hot-air balloon.
“It has to be somebody with a sense of adventure,” Gottlieb said.
Most importantly, the members have to be “culturally curious.”
“There are women who embrace learning about other cultures,” Gottlieb said. “That’s the common bond. We’re just trying to open up our horizon.”
The group, which is in its fifth year, has a core of about eight women – but the number varies.
Although most of the members are from The Woodlands, there are women from Houston, Fulshear and Sweetwater, from North Carolina, California and several from Mexico.
Gottlieb said originally, the women were ones that were connected to her, but then others were added as friends of friends, sisters, sister-in-laws and daughters became part of the group…
